So I bought a Mk-3, plan is to swap all my Mk-2 stuff in it- SSD/Caddy, memory, battery, and whatever else I can use. Then sell this excellent condition Mk-2 to recoup some funds. your thoughts??

this is the model- CF-30KCPAX2M

Model Number : CF-30KCPAX2M
Status : DISCONTINUED
MSRP : $2,200

Description: WinXP (Vista COA), Intel Core 2 Duo SL9300 1.60GHz (Centrino2), vPro, 13.3" XGA Touch, 160GB, 2GB, Intel WiFi a/b/g/n, TPM1.2, Bluetooth, Dual Pass (Upper:WWAN/Lower:WLAN), Emissive Backlit Keyboard, No Drive, Toughbook Preferred

That's what I would do. Maybe even keep an eye out for a cheap caddy...would sell faster that way.

Sweet. Would I have to reinstall Windows due to the new computer?

Win 7 should adjust and make the needed changes. You will have to activate Win 7 again.

CF29 is different
Cf30 and CF31 are the only ones that will work

this boots up just fine, but BIOS password protected. If anyone needs parts let me know or you can buy the whole thing... no battery, HDD/caddy, powercords...
