CF-31 Lower case replacement compatibility

Hi everyone! I just got a CF-31SALAX1M (Mk3). Everything on it is in decent shape except the bottom case where the motherboard lives. It has a mild indentation on the left palm rest (almost like a golf ball hit it), the mouse pad is glazed shiny, and there are some scratches on the front corners. If I want to replace that housing does it have to be from the same mark or will cases from other marks work?

Well if it'll help anyone I got a cherry condition Mk2 chassis and everything from the Mk3 went right into it perfectly.

Does the touchpad work properly or is it upside down and backwards?
