so? It comes down to one simple question. What can one do with a cf-08?
CF-29ET, CF-28ST, CF-30G , CF-M34, CF-19Ch, CF-19FH, CF-19CD, CF-73 mk1, CF-74K & H, CF-51RCB, CF-51RCL, CF-52CC .

As long as the deal is good for you it is good for me.

By itself, it can browse the internet when hooked up to a network. But it's better as a remote display for a more capable unit like CF-30/31. Can set it up to do a remote login over wifi. Useful in a car or boat so only the CF-08 is in the cockpit exposed to the elements.

Well haven't been able to get it to connect to my home router. It doesn't want to connect to my main desktop, an I'mac with Linux on it. Have to build a hdd with windows on it for the 30 I guess. Or maybe one of the 19's and see what is what.

CF-08 has a WinCE OS with built-in RPC to connect to a Windows PC:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/lib ... S.10).aspx

You have to setup a guest account on the host PC, then login to that account. You can give it standard privileges for better security, or admin rights if necessary for your purposes.

All that stuff drives me nuts...host/guest/privleges....I just want to use it.

Bill,
1. If you figure it out the CF-29 is in the trunk (when was the last time I had a vehicle w/ a trunk? 1969?) and the wireless remote screen is in the cab.
2. I found mine while looking for some keyboards for Shawn. Slick unit, Windows CE is another one of the other Bill's deals. Read it out loud and it might make sense. (Slowly)
3. Then my fine feathered friend I had to charge it, after seeing your post. MakuluLinux-9 loaded rennasas. (sp) on 19MK4. No luck. This might work for you blue-tooth aficionados. The server thing like Ken did it is beyond me or at least beyond the learning curve I am willing to suffer to do it.

I WON'T play with M$. Which might be why I have 20 to 30 computers available....with no customers.

Also the 08 is a good, tough, stand-alone wireless ready unit. My vision is the waiting line at the airport etc. 2# 11oz. with a slick handle in the back for carrying and smacking. :D
Fair for you/ Fair for me.
I chose to NOT be organized.

Well since I've just gotten around to finally making a functional W/Vista mk2 cf19 . I might try to link to that one. As of this time I have had no luck getting it to mesh with any of my linux installs on any of my machines. They read one another but do not seem to like each other. The 08 picks up the mintmac but the mintmac doesn't see the 08. Will try the 19 once it is fully fleshed out.
I kind of got distracted lately, got ahold of a few DigiPoS systems. Only missing the receipt printers and complete OSs. So been playing with them.
