I recently attempted to upgraded the wifi card in my cf-30 mk2 to the intel wifi link 5100 agn. the installation went fine. the problem is windows fails to install the driver. even if i download the latest driver or the mk3 driver software package. in device manager it has a yellow exclamation next to it and give a code 10 error. has anyone else attempted this or does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you follow the exact drive upgrade procedure & use the correct wireless switch?
http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/docs/17144

My CF-30 Mk3 uses the 5100AGN as standard, and I have that working perfectly with both Win 7 and XP (on two different drives).

If I remember right, the XP version requires other drivers removing before doing the WiFi update then reinstalling later (from files in the WiFi driver pack).

It may be worth uninstalling all the Wireless related tools (Wireless switch etc) and, I think it's the hotkey stuff? before removing & re-installing the WiFi driver.

Possibly also give ccleaner a run while all the bits are uninstalled, to remove any dead files & dodgy registry entries.

Now, I have an MK2, I will be trying this later tonight and was wondering if I should use all of the MK3 drivers (hotkey, wifi switch, and wlan) or just reinstall the MK2 drivers with the exception of the Wlan driver of course.

Thanks for the input, I really hope this helps :)

So it didn't work, i tried it every which way. device manager kept giving me an error code 10 device cannot start. so my next option will be to pop it in and do a fresh install of windows and see if that helps.

Do the pin 20 mod on the card.

I don't remember my CF-30 MK3 coming with the Intel 5100 card. I do believe it came with the Intel 4965AGN card. I don't have access to it right now.

Every time I have used the Intel 5100 card in a Toughbook, I have had to do the pin 20 mod.
