WTB CF-30

I want to upgrade from my CF-29 and I have been watching the Flea-Bay deals. I passed over and/ or just flat missed several good touchscreen Mk1 units with no DVD that went in the $400-450 range. I am still kicking myself.

I am not particular on MK 1, 2, or 3 but I would like a touchscreen and GPS. For the right price I might even consider one with only one or neither of these features. I plan to install a SSD so I am OK with no hard drive, but I would like a caddy. And a DVD would be really nice, but not required. Once again, it all depends on the price.

The "boss" originally OK'd a $500 budget but I think I will have to talk her into a little bit more than that either up front or the total price with upgrades. However, I think $1500 is probably out of the question. :D If you have anything close to the machine I am looking for even close to my budget let me know. In the meanwhile, back to trollin' the bay.

I seen them cheap 30's (bargain_crh) and passed on them too, some were beat up and did the touchscreen work ?? . I emailed the seller and he could not say...grade B,C,D. This is what he said
These were booted to BIOS by our technicians but no other test have been done. These items are in fair physical condition. They have scratches, smudges, sticke residue and light signs of wear. Also, have wear in the LCD screen
Remember you get what you pay for , if its cheap it's beat up and will cost you more in the long run . If you have to start replacing things...lid $140.00 , dvd $130.00-$229.00 , port covers $10.00
If these 30's were in better shape the seller would of started the auction at a higher price

Remember, I have enough Toughbooks to supply ALL the forum members with at least 2 of them :D... At a marginal cost though :)

Well, my limited budget all but just evaporated. I was looking because I got a large tax refund this year, mainly due to a one year extension I received for the first time home buyer's credit. Well part of that money was previously budgeted to pay for adding central AC to said new home and the quote for that came in today for about $1000 more than I had anticipated. The rest of the budget is pretty well tied up paying off my truck so I can afford my normal monthly bills finally. Given the choice of eating on a regular basis or a ToughBook.......well a CF-29 for a while longer doesn't sound so bad. :damnit:

Thanks for the replys though and hopefully I will be back in the market with a more reasonable budget in a couple months if a couple other things work out.
