cf-30 bios password ?? remove...

#1 Post by junglewarrior »

hi, I stupidly set a password when I turned on my cf 30 and now the bios doesn't let me change the boot, everything stays gray with no choice but from cd rom...is it the password's fault?? do you have to open and disconnect the cmos to remove it? only possibility ? is the cmos visible as soon as you open it? thanks

IF you send it to be serviced Panasonic's official stance is to replace the motherboard to "remove" the password. If you can still boot from the hard drive you can install windows from another machine and then install that drive in your 30. The older machines you could do some work on the cmos but you they improved the security on them on the 30. You could give some aftermarket programs a try and see if they work on removing the password.
