OldGator, did you have a different name on NBR or just a new member in general?

I was OldGator on NBR for a couple of years but had never been able to register here because of a Captcha problem. Now that NBR is gone Rob worked around the Captcha problem and I was able to create an account. As far as I know, it would not have been possible to transfer memberships from NBR to TBT, it's just that many of the old-time forum members had registered the same name on both forums before the Captcha problem surfaced.

I knew I didn't really recognize your name, so I was just making sure. I think I signed up on NBR and TBT about the same time years ago. Welcome to TBT. And feel free to use the general talk as well, we always get on some kind of subject Toughbooks or not.

Quick update folks! The CMOS battery in this new server is bad (dead) because the computer has been sitting around for several years without being used. I found this out the hard way when I shut the server down to rack it and get it going on the APC battery and the APC ATS. As such the board was down for about 30 min because the BIOS reset. While me and my engineer frantically figured out how to get this back we realized this lol.

Anyway, there will be some scheduled maintenance done on the server once I get a replacement battery for it and I'll do it after 6PM central at some point next week. If the site doesn't load during that time please keep calm and don't worry lol.

No problem Rob, Short shutdown's we can handle. Even several days shut downs if needed.

New sever consumes 40w of power. Old was 200w so doing well there too!!
