yeppers ... good work .

i see you had an AC in there grinding away to pull out the moisture .

i had a cab-over camper years ago ... big-n-heavy .
(naaa ... too easy)
it was great but i wish i had a bigger pick up to have sat it on ...
a half ton was just on the small side .

I am using my 05 dodge 1500 Hemi uad cab for this one, fully loaded with all of our stuff on it I was close to my limit I think. I will run it over a scale one day. Still plan on getting over load springs or some air bags just incase. I already use LT tires on all 4 corners so that has never been a issue. This camper is 8' but dodges have a 6.5 not a 6 foot bed. So with the tail gate down it's even with the end of the tail gate.

Later on to get the one I want how I want it set up. I will most likely have to get another truck. Probably a used F350. Going to skip the 250 unless I get a really, really good price on it. Used gas burners aren't that bad in price and I know I can wake the engine up and cam and gear it how I need it to run.

I was thinking you should go this direction. You already have a similar truck.

Yes I do but that camper is harder to find than the truck, lol. The other camper I am getting is old. I am thinking 60's vintage because how it is made. I plan on keeping it looking older on the outside. But the gas tank in the bed of my truck would prevent proper mounting. I would have to move the tank. I wouldn't turn down a "big" older truck as a camper hauler.

The other one I am looking at.

I can tell it was used as a deer camp at one time and when they scrapped the truck it's on out they just junked it as well. Not sure how old it really is as I haven't found a maker or one close to it to compare it too.

That's funny. I got a guy right now wanting to trade me a 65 ford PU that has been lowered in the rear and 68 rancharo front clip stub welded into place for either my 69 mustang or 34 ford right now.

man , that camper looks like a bunch of tweakers have been living in it !
about the only way to come out ahead on it is to have the guy pay you to haul it off .
there is going to be a whole bunch of work to do on it .
i would bet that the wooden frame is pretty much rotted all the way around .
the mold/smell is going to be into everything .

i am in northern MN ... here , there is a fair amount of moisture .
a friend inherited a camper from his dad's estate ...
it had been sitting behind the garage for quite some time (the license was about 10 years old) .
yeah ... it was a mess .
the jacks had rotted out , it was blocked up about three feet off the ground ... so we used slings and a grade-all to lift it onto a flatbed .
i was setting it down on the flatbed when it folded in on itself .
there was some other big stuff to haul out , so we finished up and headed for the "construction debris landfill" .
the guy was not going to let us dump the camper !
come on man ... it is made out of wood , aluminum , insulation and glass ... just like the crap that was already there !
after a half hour the actual boss man showed up and told the guy to let us dump it .
i guess you don't have to be a mental giant to run a dump .

i would swear that i seen that F3 and camper in a movie or instructional *short* .
i want to say it had something to do with forest fires and stuff of that nature .
as i recall , one of the scenarios had two school marms that had a campfire get out of hand and while one was shoveling dirt the other peeled out with a chevy sedan .

I cut out enough it was sagging bad and had to jack up and brace up so it wouldn't sag. Finding one that needed that much work would be fine by me just to get the all the other parts I need and put it on the new frame work. I got a line on another one that I am getting to get to redo and sell. It's just up top. The rest is gone. Looking at redoing it as a shorty one like the one I have is just not as elaborate on cabinet work, lol.
