Swearing in the church: CF-19 lid protector a-la BHT?

#1 Post by User32 »

I know everyone here on TBT hates him (and you guys WILL cruicify me for this) but where can I get one of those CF-19 lid protectors? They really make sense to me: it prevents the casing getting dinged up:

They don't sell there things like that. Go to your local hardware store and check out floor mats...door runners

If there is sufficient demand I might be coaxed into retooling for a CF-19 model of my kit...

You can't.... Why would you need to turn a CF-19 into tablet mode anyways? :pat: :pat:

To User32--On a serious note, If YOU like it, by all means go ahead--
You knew you were going to get roasted for this thread, so I am going to have a little fun.

How about using old studded winter tires.
Would using an old racing tire make the Toughbook go faster?

You could get thin rubber roof material and glue it on. Still have the scratch protection and not look so obnoxious. Probably still be able to use tablet mode.

I'll stick with my original idea of bedliner.

How about getting a decal that looks like tire tread, if it gets scratched replace it and you can still use it like a tablet. Rob can hook you up with his decal guy.
We get some rules to follow.
That and this, these and those

I saw a X200 Thinkpad with a tire tread pattern on it's lid, which looked VERY cool.

Shame I can't find a pic anymore though.

We don't need no stinkin DECAL.
These are Toughbooks.
Drive over it and get a real tread pattern.
