Emessive Keyboard Failure?

On my new CF-31J the keyboard is not nearly as bright as my old CF-31A. I have not had one long enough to know, is this a sign of impending failure, or is it correctable?

As no one has reported that their keyboard has failed, or become dimmer, I guess that I will have to assume that my problem is electrical. I have a very bright keyboard in my old CF31, but did my want to do the swap if it pointless.

Did you try the hotkey setting for the 3 or 4 brightness levels?

Yep, max brightness is less then half of my old one. If the keyboards do not lose brightness over time, I may be looking at an electrical issue. I would not think that it is a big deal, just trying to figure it out.

They just have 4 or 6 leds in them. Not much to really go "dim" I would try reconnecting it into the motherboard. Maybe a dirty connection.

Check in the BIOS for conceal mode settings.

Well, I pulled out the keyboard of my new CF-31J and cleaned the edge connector with a pencil eraser, GENTLY, and that seemed to do it. It is as bright as the old CF-31A now, which is still for sale... : )

Thanks!

1. I never got an answer from the door guy.

2. I have no idea how old the keyboard was. I'm so happy that you got it sorted out.
