I've got kinds like a blue screen except it's a black screen after a windows update on the C1... Says bad links in lost chain at cluster corrected.... After several thousand files ended at coy to fine yes/no....I'm lost... Can't find much with windows 7 and this error...

On another note that donated tower I mentioned in the buy sell has a bad mother board after the guy said it was good... Funny how things work isn't it...

bad links in lost chain at cluster corrected..
first guess is hard drive failing....

boot a linux or windows live cd/usb stick and report back...

lots of hits on a google search
https://www.google.com/search?q=+bad+li ... 8&oe=utf-8

Exact windows version should not make that much difference with this type of error.
The basic file system has gone wonky. What format is the drive FAT16, FAT32, NTFS?

Find the brand of the HDD, download the official diagnostic software and fully test the drive.

Any time I have had a similar error, I never could recover the current windows install. I partitioned formatted and tried again..
End results was a high percentage of drive failure.

Hmm it's an Intel ssd, after an hour of sitting there chasing the kids it did something and booted :blowaway:

Was it a fresh install of windows on the SSD or a clone of a HDD?

Hopefully it did not let you defragment. SSD at least Intel...... says that's not necessary. I've always been a little leery with the ssd but my Intel 335 have not me down YET. Heavy on the yet. I trim every time i think of it. Linux fstrim needs a read.

Meanwhile invented a new recipe. Penine Pasta...medium rare sirloin....hard white cheese...almost too late tomatoes...one bag baby spinach...and the dregs of the olive oil bottle. Oh, and dump all the butter that you seared the sirloin in over the whole conglomeration.

Another winner at Bluerock Bar and Grill.

Good luck, I have to eat.

Oddly enough after an hour of sitting there trying to figure out how to not make it worse it booted itself, after that ran the Intel full diag from the toolbox and said all ok, ran chkdsk and it had some errors but now all is good with my c1, the wife's c1 decided to slow way down and act crazy... Yay I'm wondering of it's another virus/malware
