I have a CF-31AAAAX1M. I am trying to update some drivers and I have been confronted with having to know if I have a "Standard" or "Performance Model." I am guessing that it standard, but, how do you tell?

Ok.. I was stuck with "Standard VGA" drivers and could not see what I had. But, for anyone else that needs the answer, the new Toughbook CF-31 Performance Model is powered by the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2540M with AMD Radeon™ HD 6750M switchable graphics. The Standard Model uses the performance Intel® Core™ i5-2520M vPro with Intel® HD 3000 graphics.

I am not sure if there is a upgrade from Standard to Performance Graphics wise, but I would guess that it would involve a new MomBo.

Your CF31A is a mk1.
High performance has ATI graphics and i5 processor--Intel 540m cpu
Standard has Intel graphics--Intel 520m cpu
Value has i3 and Intel graphics--Intel 350m cpu

The CF31 mk2 has
High performance has ATI graphics and i5 processor--Intel i5-2540M
Standard has Intel graphics--Intel i5-2520M
Value has i3 and Intel graphics--Intel i3-2310M cpu

Yes, I'm learning, but honestly the only things I knew about the CF-31 before last week was that it was a i5, and I thought that all off them were(!) and it had a fan. I never read much about them because I have never bought a Toughbook this new and did not expect to!

Oh, well, I'm having fun and I had good luck putting my loaded SSD in and making it work with some driver updates. Ubuntu handled it a lot more gracefully then Windows 7!
