What kind of 19 are you wanting? I got a few extra's and don't have enough caddies for them. I also have some 74's but no caddies.

Ok excuse my noob ish ness. But I don't know how many different 19's there are. However I'm sure that I will be learning soon. I guess something with a core 2 duo and touchscreen and dvd . I am not a big fan of wireless , have plenty of hdd's and ramm. However since I have a 28 and multiple 27's with touch screens I might be able to swap parts around??? For me it's like I have caddies but no units to put them into. As for 74 caddies. Yea I have a FEW of those.
I guess something along these lines

On the 19 there are currently 7 marks or generations.

Mk1 core duo, 32 bit only os, ddr2 ram, 945 chipset/video, touchscreens are known to go bad on them.(but digitizers I have never seen a bad one)
Mk2 core 2 duo, ddr2 ram,965 chipset/video, touchscreen on this model are up don't have any known problems. Mk1/2 19's have parts interchange with 18's to a point.
Mk3 core 2 duo, dd2 ram, inteo 4500 graphics, led screen introduced, slight model revision, screen housing casting is different and lower base is revized.
Mk4 i5 model, ddr3 ram, I would have to look the other specs.

My personal travel one is a Mk3, 4gb ram, 160gb ssd. I swapped to my extra caddy and put a older 40gb ssd into it to help it out and worked on some modded drivers and did some other modding. I got skyrim to play on it, but FPS dropped out alot during a big fight making it just about un-playable. It was just a experiment to see if I could make integrated graphics and 1.2 dual core play the game. I know it plays fine on the 1.3 core 2 duo / 335gt in my alienware M11X.

If you want to do some horsetrading I do have one or two Mk2's left with out caddies. I think I have 4 or 5 19's left. Same on the 74 models I got 4 of them with no caddy.

Seeing as how I have bookoo ram a few caddies, and plenty of hdd's (but onle 1 ssd) and only use wireless when wired in not handy. I'm not a heavy gamer. MC and old Forsaken are about it for me. A mk 1 would be a beater that would probably take my 74's place or the 30's place. MK 4 and above are probably out of my price range. So probably looking at mk 2-3's. If I'm not too far off some of the dvd drives I have ought to cross to the 19's so that would cover my use of handbrake and K3b.

Unless I missed some thing .....but the 19 has no CD/DVD drive, you will need a external drive

No?
Cool can work that too. Have a few external dvd's laying around here some where. For that matter I can always usb install. It DOES make my dvd playing a bit inconvenient. Well can't have it all. Which is better tho T/S or digitizer? And do they function better than they do on a 73 or 74? Do they let one do more than just select, drag and point? Which in my book pretty much make them useless. I don't even like to use a touch pad on a laptop. I use a track ball, wired or wireless.

Get a digitizer ...hands down better..pun intended
Digitizer does require a stylus, but they are much more precise and don't fail. If you can draw it with a pencil, you can draw it on a digitizer. Real artists use digitizers all the time.

With a CF19 you MUST use a usb dvd....like this....Stick to a Panasonic brand when possible. Other brands have boot issues.
