Possible method to enable "unsupported" WWAN cards
Posted: Sat May 02, 2015 9:04 pm
Hello,
searching for a way to get my MC7710 working , I found
http://web.archive.org/web/200710160636 ... le0001.php
So - if some of the kind gentlemen in this forum are able to place a ubuntu disk into a CF-31 or a different toughbook with a working WWAN card and just perform a
lspci -nv
as root and place the output - i.e something like
root@electron:~# lspci -nv
...
02:02.0 Class 0200: 14e4:4318 (rev 01)
Subsystem: 103c:1356
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 168, IRQ 11
Memory at c4010000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2
into the thread we may got a way to collect all the ID & SubID's of WWAN cards Panasonic support...
...and if we let them know that, they may give up selling expensive stuff to the world and accept that this era has been gone long time ago
Idea on windows (we cannot modifie source code of Nic) : After hardware scan, force the "wrong" nic to use the correct drivers (Legacy Hardware ?)
cheers
Frank
