Re: CF-30 no wifi
What I did was set the bios back to xp so I could restore it. After that it didn't work and reflashing to vista was no good. So I got another card and very carefully redid the pin 20,left the bios at vista, installed the card and it won't turn on.
Pull the battery, drain the stupid out and then reboot and it works,I think its haunted.

Re: CF-30 no wifi
The only pin 20 I ever did I totally removed. No tape, nail polish. I have a saddle knife (like exacto) and a magnifier...clipped and removed...and it worked.
A little off the subject..I have seen and Teo wrote about it several times....occasionally it takes two boots. (possibly this is what the stupid drain does) This was related to touchscreens and bios ec changes.
And then we see the bsod Toughbook mentioned with oddball video....again it's two re-boots.
Don't give up until you have booted twice.
Then smack it.
