CF-08 and etc.
So... where's the CF-08 section?
Very neat, very slick but what is Windows CE anyway. O.K....I know what it is, but would appreciate any information on set-up ....especially after W7 came into being. Or make that....compatible with XP and then??????????????????
Then....I wanna switch it to Linux.
Anyway Rob, can you open a CF-08 etc. section?
I know, I know....distracted again.....I canna help it the beggar is cute.

Re: CF-08 and etc.
What version number of CE do you have?
The CF 08's WinCE is burned on a ROM with a minimal amount of memory

Re: CF-08 and etc.
Shawn buddy,
Version 5.0.
It has a bunch of folders but they are empty....just learning aboot the rascal. (sic)
I want to use it as a remote desktop at some point.
edit: orphanlr sent me two of them a cupla years ago. I miss-spell for the fun o' it. See his NBR posts.
Having hell getting a remote desktop to see/talk to Linux or W7. For fun...I'm boxing one up for Cleve (Kris) tomorrow.

Re: CF-08 and etc.
That sounds likely, as 4GB and up are SD-High Capacity (SDHC) so the older WinCE may not have the updated driver.Sadlmkr wrote:I saw one post re: SD cards are limited to 2Gb.????
I had a CF-08 configured to hook up to my desktop Win7Pro. As I recall it was not very hard using RDP over my home wifi. Made a separate user account on the host desktop so the 08 wouldn't mess up my standard setup (screen res etc) and to limit security risk. Think the host account has to have a password for RDP to work. Also was able to get the 08 to connect directly to the Innernet (J'd spelling fun) over wifi and browse using IE built into WinCE, but it ran very slowly. The TX2 version has a faster (Atom?) processor and twice the memory of the TX1 version.
