No worries, plenty of Linux Boxes waiting to be trialed. Try this link and load the Gnome version:

It's the repositories, not the package manager software, hence why I was asking about them. You'll find them in /etc/apt/sources or sources.d files

xinput-calibrator didnt' seem to be in Debian stable but is in sid or jessie. network-manager should be in stable as well as Libreoffice. I'm guessing that since you couldn't grab those last two with apt-get, this OS probably maintains its own repo. If I had it in my hands I would add a debian repo to get the stuff that's missing.

Sounds like it's just a curiosity, anyway. I don't generally mess around with other distros since I find Debian to be perfect as it is.

Semi-final report:
Bugs: No offense builders you said BETA
1. No sound.
2. Desktop loads with NumLk ON.
3. No wireless manager per se. Oh, it has one but the upgrade available from the package Site works better. :D (with minimal thinking)

Aand a couple other minor things.

I may try again next year.

No offense to the builders please. Keep up the good work.

The search continues.

Kode, I understand. You use Debian and I drive Fords. :D

J'd....what's next?....zorin-os-9-lite since uncndl1 is trying opensuse...

Yeah but if your Fords cost less than the average vehicle, never break down, have consistently high IIHS crash ratings and excellent fuel mileage then maybe you're on to something and it deserves a closer look!

Anyway whatever argument I make pro-Debian is somewhat pointless because I understand you guys are having fun trying out new distros about as much as I like to try out new scotch whiskies. :D You might find the odd gem among the hundreds of distros.

I like the way you think.

You hit it on the head...strictly for fun it is. And I learn something every day.

Definitely not an argument for or against.
