China / Asia shipping

I have been doing some investigating...
Apparently the USPS has setup a deal with 15 or so countries. It's for commercial sellers, mainly on fleabay. It's called E-Packet. I have noticed some Asia sellers use Standard Post or Economy. For a small premium they use E-Packet.
I know the 2 led strips I bought were stuck in customs for weeks. They were NOT E-Packet. It seems to me everything in the past that has been E-Packet came pretty quickly. 2 to 3 weeks total.
I "think" E-Packet gets a speedier path through customs...Anyone have any experience?

I know anything I order from China shipped to my Canadian address takes at least 4 weeks.

Tell you the truth I never check, all the stuff I get from china seems to take weeks to get here. Most times i would rather pay more and get it from the US or Canada.

Some stuff I'll pay extra to get from USA. I want to buy a quantity of 10 of a DC-DC boost for 3v and up. China cost is 1.88 each plus 2.00 E-Packet postage. USA cost is 9.00 EACH plus postage.. 19.20 verses 97.00...that's an outrageous difference

I am curious. I just bought a 13 inch led strip from a economy shipper in China. I also bought a 15 led strip from a E-Packet shipper in China. The last led strip from the economy shipper was stuck in customs for almost a month.

I agree some stuff is just cheap as dirt from China,I buy a fair amount of stuff from 2-3 dealers there.I will have to look into the E-Packet thing. :boing:

Something else I noticed...

The padded envelope was sorted in Jamaica NY...And the packages(boxes) are sorted through Flushing, NY....
No idea what that means but it's interesting.
