LOL! Love you guys!

Sooooooo I was messing around with the NMEA function on the Verizon MC7750 4G LTE card and I'm getting a good solid sat lock... Working great!!

That _was_ a good deal.

I got the camera in mine, too, but am not impressed with it (though the LED "flash" makes a decent flashlight). I think I'd get far more use out of the second USB port option or perhaps a LAN port (though I could use a USB to LAN adapter). Do you know what combinations of add-ons can go into one of these things at the same time?

GPS works great, a pleasant surprise. Fan is an angry little wasp when the CPU is taxed, and audible most of the time. Otherwise I love it. I just wish my close-up vision was as good as it used to be. I'm either going to have to buy a special set of cheaters or continue placing the dock close to me and using the Bluetooth keyboard in my lap. (I move it around a lot or I'd keep an external monitor hooked up.)

I put my own 480GB SSD in it, and maxed the RAM to 8GB. It's cool running a couple VMs on your bulletproof tablet :)

WOAH... So, first of all.... How did you put 8GB in it?? I thought only 4GB could do 4GB and wasn't upgradable? Do you have pictures? Panasonic claims it's soldered on the board. Did you do some soldering?

The options are all modular. If you have a GPS in there then you can't have the LAN or barcode, 2nd USB, etc. Mine has LAN on it and that's perfect for me seeing as the GPS on the Verizon card works perfectly fine for me :)

Thanks!

I don't see where you can add more RAM.... :read:

Neither did I, unless it's on the bottom of the Motherboard....

Now that y'all say that, I think the unit may have come with 8 GB RAM. I've put RAM in so many machines lately I've lost track.

Shawn, thanks for the pics of the guts of yours. I haven't been brave enough to totally disassemble mine yet :) Mine does have both a GPS and a camera. From what I read the camera/2nd USB/LAN formed the "pick one" category, but a lot of what I read wasn't totally clear to me, which is why I asked. The GPS I like, camera not so much. One interesting thing is that it doesn't seem to weigh much more than my Nexus 10 with its rugged case.

Next order of business is to get an Android emulator running on it so I can have all my Android apps, too.

EDIT: I guess the other reason I thought I might get away with adding the 2nd USB is that I took that little cover off that's on the edge next to the fan discharge, and it didn't look like anything was occupying the space behind it (assuming that's where the 2nd USB goes). I think I can see the LAN jack there in your pics. This may warrant further investigation...

EDIT2: Proper credit given to the photographer.

Just for clarification...

Not my photos or my G1

I found these on the net after a lot of searching.
