This is output from ($dmesg | grep SD) on 30FCS85AM Mint 16. I know naught about the invalid allocation size. mmc0 is the driver? And it shows a 952 MiB card is installed.

I got some help from a girlfriend that does Avionics. I got the top cover off by myself, after some fussing! She got frustrated and took the screwdriver out of my hand, found the cable partly pulled out, pushed it in and buttoned the machine back up! It is easy to see how it could move though on reassembly! It works great now!! Thanks for your help!

But... my 64GB SDHC card comes up as a 22GB, so that is that I guess. I am still working on the problem though, perhaps improved SDXC card reader drivers....

As I have said before ......Linux is a good tester. Even if you don't want to go through the slight learning curve.
Second thing I said...computers are logical...if it says the SD card is not there ...IT IS NOT visible to the OS.
Thanks Bill for the validation of what little I know.....as sorry as I am for being the one that caused it.

Good show.

The flat cable going to the reader was cocked, there is no telling how it happened. I, actually my girlfriend, secured it with a little piece of Kapton tape to make sure that it did not happen again! :D

NOW, to figure out why my SD Card reader will not see my 64GB SDXC card!? Perhaps updated drivers to read the newer SDXC format? Does anyone know the correct model number of the Ricoh card reader?

BTW, to see that big 64GB SDXC card in Ubuntu you need to add this in the terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install exfat-fuse exfat-utils
