Ken! Just work slowly specially on separating the TS panel from the lcd. It is attached by an adhesive strip in two side only. Also on separating the metal frame on the LCD itself. There are four small screws, two at one side and two at the other. It was covered by a plastic with rubber dumper on it.
On taking out the CCFl tube, it was held by two plastic tab that's why it a bit tricky but you can force it out and break it. Its no use anyway for the LED strip. Its like a support of the screen layer. Then I apply a bit of hot glue on those area.

Shawn! The lcd of the 73,74,29 are all compatible even to CF-30 but for non ts CF-30 only coz they use only one backlight.

If I mod in 2 LED strips, will I be able to use a 73,74 or 29 LCD in a TS CF30?
Is the LCD cable the same between TS and non TS CF30 LCD panels?
The reason I ask, is I want to do an LED mod for my CF30 mk2 TS. I would like to mod the LED's to one of my extra LCD panels and then just swap panels on the CF30.

Yes! As a matter of fact I do have a test bed CF-30mk1 that I've used the LCD from CF-29MK1 and it works just fine but the LED strips installation must away from the reflector of about 8-10mm distance, otherwise the shadow effect at the bottom is so obvious. I am now looking for a piece of thin metal plate to mod for the led strips to give it right distance but as I said it works perfectly.
Yes! also, the LCD harness from non ts to ts are all the same but beware the difference between MK1 and (MK2 & mk3 the same)

The LCD harness connector that plug in to the mobo. of the MK1 is different from MK2 but MK2 and MK3 are the same.

Teo, where exactly did you connect the emissive keyboard on the cf52G? Photos?? I would like to do that to mine.

Just for info..The emissive keyboard extra connector for the lights plugs into a 7pin 1.0mm ffc connector. .30mm,.33mm thick cable. You can get them at digikey. I will post part numbers later. I am going to solder the wires to the smartcard connector and then to the 7pin connector. The keyboard will plug right in. No soldering the ffc. It will have one brightness level. I will start a new thread on this later on.

Holy buckets.....I never knew about the red LEDs, that is way cool! I have 5 of them right now and I can see I'm keeping one,always been my biggest thing cuz I can't see at all in dim light.

I feel like a dummy....easy now boys.

I think we could change one side of the red leds to blue. A simple circuit to make them alternating flash.....It would be the Police special CF52GUN...

I ran right out the other room and cranked one up,that is awesome. Just what I needed another personal laptop....oh boy.
