CF-74K No wireless

#1 Post by toughasnails »

Model Number : CF-74KCJDZAM
Status : DISCONTINUED
MSRP : $3,449
Description: No Wireless, WinXP (Vista COA), Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.40GHz, 13.3" XGA Touch, 160GB, 1GB, WinXP, Multi-drive, Smartcard, No Bluetooth
The above 74MK4 is what I have, the antenna lines were there so I put a wifi card in from another 74MK3 but nothing so I checked the BIOS and where it would say wireless there is a empty space...nothing and as you can guess it's not listed in device manager. So what's up with this thing

Do you think this is what I need to do ?? public_downloads/index.php?dir=CF-30%20 ... 965%20Fix/

I just tried to install the wireless switch but get this...I have W7 on this thing to but have the restore disk coming for it.

edit: D = vproThere is a difference in how these act. I like the JD best. The JC has touch issues in XP...runs great on Linux. They are handled differently in the W7 upgrade from Pana jp. What I mean is they differentiate between 74JC and 74JD....I haven't figured out the differences yet.
Sorry it took so long. I was gentling the new hens down. :salute:

Yes please let me know what your bios shows . So If I did the mod to the wifi card does anyone think it will work. This is the first one that I have gotten with no wireless that did not work...the others all I had to do was drop a card in it and it worked.

If you have a old card, you could try cutting the trace to the pin and see if it allows the card to be active. The cf52 is a pain to swap wifi cards. Funny thing is I can stick any card in the cf30 and it works.
Life will beat you into submission.
