Questions about CF-U1 SSD replacement

Okay, I'm a sucker for projects, so after I found the SSD 64GB part number (Transcend TS64GSSD10-M) in one of the other threads, I located and ordered one ($75 if you gotta know).

Sooo....

No problem changing it out in the caddy, made sure the ZIF latch was secure. But when I tried to reinstall the OS, I got a dskpart error??? I ran list disk in diskpart and it doesn't even see it. I even booted the U1 from a GParted Live CD, and it still didn't see the SSD.

So am I missing a step, or do I have a bad SSD? I put the original back in and it's fine, of course. http://www.toughbooktalk.com/posting.ph ... 1c96a792d1#

Update:

After realizing the SSD wasn't even visible to the PC at the BIOS level I arranged to return it. Hopefully the next one does better.

Received the replacement, same issue, SSD not seen in the BIOS. If this is a basic hardware compatibility issue, everyone will know not to do what I did when I'm done! I've emailed Transcend and Panasonic, but if anyone has a related experience I would love to hear it. Otherwise, this is kind of like talking to myself...

The latest info in the ongoing saga, I heard back from Panasonic Tech Support:

CF-WSDU1031 - 32GB SSD kit for CF-U1 is the part number you will need to purchase.
. Select from one of the Toughbook resellers listed below for assistance with the purchase of the pens.
Bizco Technologies - Telephone #: 866-770-1803 / Email: sales@toughonline.com / URL Address: http://www.toughonline.com/
Get Tough Today - Telephone #: 877-357-3351 / Email: sales@gettoughtoday.com / URL Address: http://www.gettoughtoday.com/
Rapid Access - Telephone #: 877-207-3168 / URL Address: http://www.rapidacc.com/

So I asked directly:
Thanks for the information. Just to be specific then are you saying that:
1. There is not a 64GB option for this model?
2. The Transcend TS64GSSD10-M is not a compatible part?

And the answer:
Yes, to both questions. The unit only support 32GB SSD

So it looks like I will be returning the Transcend SSD and visiting eBay with the CF-U1.
