CF-52 More wireless!

#1 Post by toughasnails »

This is a posting from NBR By member MrRe

MrRe
I would like to have a wireless card that the BIOS recognises. Although I have fitted a 5100 into my MK1 and it functions, I keep an eye out for the official Panasonic version.
A MB has turned up but the seller doesen't seem to know the model number. He has parted it out as due to a BIOS password. The date on the DVD drive seems to say 2011!
I know the later models probably used the 5100 for a while. I have enquired about the wireless card but I think he has misunderstood. He has send me a pic of a Sierra Gobi card which seems to be below one of the speakers. I take it that is the WWAN not the WLAN?
Are all the WLAN cards suitated behind the cover on the bottom on the various models and if this is a much later model would the WLAN be of any use to me?

Yep, it's WWAN.

Are all on the bottom, but in my MK4 it is a half size card.

Ok I have a cf52 mk2 and just loaded the RW program. Now how do I find the SLIC-table / whitelist in all that information?
Does the whitelist specify what card models such as 5100 6200 etc..or does it specify OEM Panasonic card?

Err.. thanks for the replies!
Obviously if there is a way round this to use generic cards that the BIOS will recognise without the pin mod then that would be useful to know. That would assume I could understand it and that of course it doese not break any Forum rules!

Thank u for moving.
As answer for Shawn:

U will see the slic table in rw if u select apci and then slic.

I'm also trying to break the barriers in my MK4 and bricked it once, but got it back to life with rw and a BIOS backup.
