I have looked at a couple of these on and off. I see some of them are listed as having a "leaking screen" or has liquid bubbles in the screen. What kind of screen are they using in them? And why?

I have seen this also, but neither of the d630 XFR's or the XT2 XFR have them. In the pictures, it is hard to tell if the bubbles are between the two glass panes in the lcd, or if they are under the screen protector.

Is this something they did to add more "shock protection" to the screen? Guessing it would make a replacement screen expensive as hell.

I see they use the same screen in the ATG series too. Looking on several forums it seems to be a problem with some of these dells. The liquid filled ones were there daylight readable one. I see mention that the screen are no longer produced. Wonder if a regular screen would fit in a pinch? Of if it's some kind of cover over a regular screen.
