First thing this is what your CF-73 ( MK1 ) had when new
" Pentium M 1.4GHz (Centrino), 13.3"Transmissive TOUCH XGA, 512, 64VRAM, 40GB, DVD/CDRW, Intel 802.11b, WIN 2000 "
Second as you can see you will need the touchscreen drivers. The 73 never came with "table" only touch. Now I am not sure if this link will work but here it is https://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/s ... reId=15001 All you have to do is pick your system and it will list all the drivers for it but you may have to register to get them. https://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/s ... ogId=13401

Well I don't know the CF-73, but based on my research it employs the same Mobile Intel 915 Express chipset and a Graphics Media Accelerator 900 graphics core as the CF-29. So video and chipset wise, you are good to go.

As to the missing driver, are you referring to the Touchpad? Also did you run Windows Update till it could find no more updates?

Thanks everyone, and Azrial I'm talking about that touchscreen, everything I was able to find the driver on. Thanks toughasnails for all the information you have given me its a big help since I haven't done a discussion board in a long time, and my knowledge of toughbooks is minimal. My knowledge of toughbook is growing thanks to this site, thanks everyone.

Brennen, they don't have Win Vista or Win 7 drivers for this machine. All you can do is try the XP drivers. I've put the XP touchscreen drivers on \\tech\data2\Touchscreen - Take it and DELETE the drivers when you are done off the tech machine.

P.S, it's a Mark 1

Actually, I think that your model number should be, CF-73ECPTXDM: "Pentium M 1.4GHz (Centrino), 13.3"Transmissive TOUCH XGA, 512, 64VRAM, 40GB, DVD/CDRW, Intel 802.11b, WIN 2000."

As that was originally a W2K machine I guess you can not use the original drivers, but have you tried using the XP drivers for the touchpad? If that fails you can also try the Vista Drivers for the CF-19, folks have had some good lucking using them to get hotkeys to work on the CF-29. Do you know the manufacturer of the Touchpad on that model?

And as I have said, make sure that you run Windows Update, they are adding drivers everyday! Good luck!

Blucado, am I reading it right or did your sig say 1.5gb RAM for your CF-73PECPTXDM? According to the operating instructions, the maximum memory for Mk1's (yours and my CF-73ECNTXDM) is 1024mb... or did you actually managed to pump it to 1.5??? hmm... another one of those "undocumented titbits"?? For now, I have mine running XP SP3 (daughter using it tho) but I'd be keen to hear how you get on with W7.

Blair, I gotta be blind... the configurator doesn't show details for CF-73PECPTXDM. Did you checked out another site or ...???

Also the reason he has 1.5GB is because he has 512MB onboard + a 1GB chip...

Thanks for the drivers Rob, but I've already tried them before and they didn't work. Other then that Windows 7 runs fine on my CF-73. I've done all the windows updates there is. So far I like it.
