CF-20 for Towing?

#1 Post by natescott90 »

Hey everybody!

So a week or two ago, I got my hands on a CF-20, full model number is CF-20A0199KM, keyboard dock is CF-VEK201LM. Currently equipped with dual batteries, one in the tablet, one in the keyboard. About 30-40% wear on each. Recently upgraded with a Sierra Wireless EM7355, I do have an extra up for grabs in the buy/sell/trade forum.

I'd like to know what the build spec on this CF-20 is, I rescued it from a local pc recycling shop, so they didn't know where it came from. Also, being a tow truck driver now, it'd be cool to use this for work purposes and personal use. I'd prefer using it for GPS/offline maps, some mobile data, communications stuff. If it helps, my tow truck is a 2025 Freightliner M2 106 Plus. One beast of a flatbed if I'm honest :headbang:

We use Towbook for our towing calls, my CF-20 doesn't have a rear camera equipped, only the front camera. It also has what appears to be a Smartcard reader on it, don't know what I'd use it for. Any ideas on how to make it more rugged?

Thanks in advance, your friendly neighborhood tow truck driver.
Still a :newbie:

CF-20A0199KM - W11, currently unknown build specs. Upgraded with Sierra Wireless EM7355, hopefully will be with me in my tow truck for communications and maps.

FZ-G1ASK4CCM-W10 Pro 64bit, 256GBSSD, 8GB RAM, GPS, Sierra Wireless MC7700. New addition to my collection, using it for navigation and vehicle diagnostics.

CF-29NTQGZBM-PM 1.6, 1.5GB, 80GB IDE, WXP Pro-Running legacy stuff, rescued from a local pawn shop.

CF-19KHRAX2M-Modified with a Gobi 2000 module for vague GPS and basic WWAN.

Pictures of system specs, and possibly smartcard-reader-thingy.
