Looking to upgrade to CF31

#1 Post by TowerClimb-11FN »

Hello guys,
Been a lurker, not a regular user of forums (sorry), but I know you guys know your stuff so I came back to here.
Anyways, looking on upgrading from my cf30 (cf-30kqc55am) to a cf31. My CF30 is great but the 2G Gobi 1000 and the BT 2.0 are holding me back with certain tasks that I bought it for.
The three main things Im looking for are Verizon 4G, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 (and a 240GB+ SSD is a plus if it keeps me in the price range). At a $1400 or less price range, that puts me into a MK2.
I found the TechTough seller on ebay selling his black cobra TB's. Don't care that its black, he has what im looking for in the correct price range. Didn't know if hes a reputable seller and I figured you guys would know. Also, would it be possible to use my DVD drive out of my CF30 in my GF31? Figured if I could, id save me a few dollars.

Thanks for the reply's
-Shawn

TechTough is also a member here and many of us have bought parts from him too and my guess he has also learned how to do a lot of mods from us too. That said you can't go wrong with Shawn. He's the go to guy for Toughbook mods. He knows his stuff and will treat you right.

DVD is a 311U. CF-30 is VDR302U. So no luck there.
The caddy and drive will fit but it would be a waste of the CF-30MK3.

Shawn's your man Shawn. :)
Fair for you/ Fair for me.
I chose to NOT be organized.
