CF-C2 Power Issue

#1 Post by gc83 »

Hi guys!

New to the forum, and hoping someone will be able to assist. I have a CF-C2 that a remote user was using for a long period of time. We have received it back, and everything worked well despite some issues with the power button being finicky. A decision was made to clone another user's machine to the drive in the CF-C2 and give it to them as their primary machine. The drive was removed, data was cloned to it, it was reinserted and now the machine will not boot. When attempting to power it on, we receive a green battery light for the duration that the power switch is held. Once you let go of the power switch, the light goes out. The machine does not attempt to boot in any way. When the battery is removed and I try to power it on with the power cord only, I receive no response from the machine.

Any ideas?

Try to boot it without a drive.

Have you tried pulling the battery and holding the start button for a minute?

I have tried holding the power button for 60 seconds with the battery out, but am running into the same issue. The OS is Windows 10.

It is extremely strange that it doesn't power on at all. Aside from the battery light being lit when holding the power, there is 0 response from the machine.

Confirmed that I'm using the correct 16v charger for the machine.

Try removing all extra cards..wifi,,wwan,,one memory stick at a time, No hard drive or caddy..
See if it will boot then.

If not, the motherboard or switch is bad. I am thinking motherboard because pressing the switch does cause something to happen.
I do have some parts for a CF C2. PM me if interested

I do believe it's the motherboard. I had previously pulled it apart as described above to troubleshoot.
