Motherboard Temp

#1 Post by Rich »

What should be the temp of the motherboard. I've got Piriform Speccy, which gives all kinds of specs, including motherboard temp, etc..

My Mk5 is running around 135 to 145 def F. My Mk2 runs around 90 deg F.

Anybody know a spec?

Did you check or change the thermal pads on the mk5?
If not, change the pads and test again.

Just do the pads. IMHO Arctic silver is a crutch.

Get a chunk of 1.5 and one of .5.

I have used a bunch of fujipoly. Or when you send it to me, I have some in stock.....but better if you do them both.

Pull the bottom and smoosh the pads today! (if they are not all crumbly)
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Please let us know how the Frozencpu transaction goes.
There are many reports of trouble with that company.

Just for info. Here is a link to a company started by ex frozencpu employees. It looks good, but I have not tried them yet.

Just got order from frozen pc, well it was delivered yesterday (Wednesday) to my box. So ordered Saturday delivered Wednesday, not to bad for standard shipping. I have no issues with them, good experience.

Now I just have to free up some time to make repairs, will update temperature changes.
