The 30 and 31 media bays are COMPLETLY different.

No, they are NOT cross-compatible.

The CF-VZSU1430(U) is: 2ND BATTERY PACK FOR CF-30F-K MK2-3

well. I have a CF-VZSU1430 for my cf 30 mk2. The CF-VZSU1430 will NOT fit in my CF52G mk2. Maybe the CF-VZSU1431 will fit a cf52. An official cf30 dvd drive will not fit into my cf52 either.

Just for info. A media bay battery for a cf51/cf73 will fit in a cf52, BUT will not work. I tried that already.

thanks for the info, didn't know 30 and 31 had diff. media bays.

however, my 30mk1 (CF-30C) uses one 1430 without problems, even though it's not listed in there.

CF-52G = CF-31 type of media bay

CF-30 is CF-30.

But I thought a cf52 dvd would work in a cf30. You have to figure a way to get it back out though. No pull handle.

Wait a minute....Isn't a cf31 a sata optical drive? My cf52G is PATA/IDE. The later cf52's are sata optical drives. I know a mk4 is. I had that discussion on the other forum with ohlip or onakriss. That was about booting a media bay HDD.

The media battery for a cf 73 / cf51 is a CF-VZSU1473.

I ended up selling this on ebay, but this is still an interesting discussion so I recommend leaving it open.
