Cf-28 Hard Drive question

#1 Post by Thor »

Hello all. I just purchased an old CF-28. It didn't include HDD or caddy. I have located a caddy and need direction in purchasing a HDD. This is my first toughbook "rebuild" and am not sure on what type of HDD I need to purchase (SATA, ATA, IDE, EIDE, etc). I plan on loading XP on this. Thanks in advance.

IDE for sure... I'd go with a 5400RPM drive for SURE (NOT 4200RPM). Their are 7200 RPM drives out there but they are RARE and EXPENSIVE ($140+ for a 100G one).

Load XP Pro and you're golden!!

Good luck and welcome to the forums!
