I bought one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Panasonic-Toughbook ... 2c5d915490

It has a broken battery bay so no battery will work with it, but that's fine because it will always be plugged in anyways.

I have one main concern: How do I waterproof it from the elements if there will always be power and an audio connection going into it??? :pat: Ideas? I will be to lazy to remove it every stinkin time I'm done with it...

I will take pictures of the complete setup later today :)

Blair, I see why you would think that, but it's HONESTLY not the reason I made this thread! I simply wanted to show you what CF-18 I am using without having to explain myself lol. Anyways, here are the photo's!!!

I'm going to be put mull tracking up for that ugly wire (I ran out) just like the rest of the speaker system is!

P.S, this is only the start of my crazy life with Toughbooks and my own home. I live in a large apartment... Can you imagine what would happen when I buy a large house???? :D :D :D :D

Looks good so far but you do need something to keep the dc adapter in other than a bucket :D . I would check out Walmart in the house wares / storage boxes. You could put a hole in one of them and use a water proof fitting where the wires go in.

What is it about the battery bay that's broken? Can you solder to the connectors?

If you don't mind soldering to one of your batteries, wire it right to the battery bay contacts. Or if there's space, you can wire a small connector in between the battery bay contacts and the battery so that it's still removable, although you'll only be able to use it with that particular computer. But then it'll be waterproof and usable for other things. And you won't need to have a bucket on your balcony. :D

The bucket is there no matter what because it has the sub woofer and other speaker connections in there.
