Let me try that again, factory discs and usb dvd drive. The mk3 is the only model that refuses to work.

I had one unit that would only talk to a unnamed slot load from a company starting with d. It may have been a CF-19....MK2?
And the CF-M34 only likes Panasonic CF-VDRRT3.

Computers being logical...if it says no command.com then it can not see/use the command.com which is required of course for the dos portion to start.

Interesting...W7 does not show command.com but it has to be there....so [menu][cmd] and this becomes visible. Example of Panasonic Factory restore MK3 XPP for a CF-30.

Its there but it must be messed up,hmmm, now what to do? Make an iso of the disc and unpack it with winrar, then grab the command.com file from another and replace it?

I have the factory mk4&5 discs.

This same problem has happen to me back a few years when I had my 18's. I was using one of them 2 lines cd-roms, you know the cheap ones. Well I broke down and bought a Panasonic CF-VDRRT3U and problem solved. I have never had the problem again.

This was another problem I was having http://www.toughbooktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=980
