Win 7 on cf18 MK5

#1 Post by DN in Hawaii »

Hi all!

I've been searching in vain looking for drivers to upgrade my Touch Screen for Win 7 on my MK5 . My model # is CF-18NJHZEBM. I can follow the posts up to adding all the necessary drivers except the touch screen.

The reason I need the touch screen is I use it for Raymarine Raytec. It's software for my Marine electronics. The touchpad is great when bouncing around in rough seas. Not to mention XP has no support any more, and I'd like to add an updated OS.

The Win 7 CF-18 conversion thread has been dead for a while, so I'm hoping someone has found a solution.

Thanks in advance!!

I have never done a W7 install on a CF-18 but have done it on many other Toughbook's and W7 always loaded the drivers for me. Was the touchscreen working before the W7 install??

Try Fujitsu and direct download them..
It's a 4 wire resistive.

And calibration will not appear in W7 (see video)due to the CF-18 using a PS/2 Mouse driver instead of the HID route of tablets and touchscreens in W7 and Vista. (HID is in device manager)
Did it work before is an excellent question guys.
Fair for you/ Fair for me.
I chose to NOT be organized.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Yes the touch screen was working prior. I'm wondering if the driver is the problem. I'll try Shawn's advice and see what happens.

I'll report back one way or the other.

Try a Linux Live CD. Ubuntu 10.10
public_downloads/index.php?dir=Ubuntu%2 ... rsion%27-/

It's the easiest way to test if it's a driver or hardware issue.

Unfortunately I have no experience in Linux.

I did run across the thread http://www.do-download.com/System/Backu ... 43753.html

It supposedly has the Cf-18 MK5 W7 drivers. Not sure if anyone here has had any experience on that site. Not sure if I want to try this at all.

Thoughts?

That's the best part..You don't need any experience..
Download the iso in the following link...burn it to a CD and boot it...
It will ask if you want to try it (run from CD) or install to hard drive....Click on run from CD....It will run without changing anything on your hard drive....Let us know what the results are...

Also check in the BIOS and see what the Touchscreen setting is in there.
