TBT search engine

#1 Post by Shawn »

Can we adjust the search engine somehow? It's very frustrating the way it is now.
I get this for 90% of what I search for. Replace the red x's with my search term.

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: xxxxxxxxx.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.
Life will beat you into submission.

This is already addressed to be used with Google in the format below:

site:www.toughbooktalk.com dvd drive

Replace "dvd drive" with what you want to search for.

I probably can, yes. I still have to reload the damn server so I might do that at the same time.

Baby will be here in about 3 - 4 weeks so there's that too lol.

Thanks!

I did a search for the suggested site:www.toughbooktalk.com dvd drive.

1.) I got one HIT with google and the page filled with ads. (USING GOOGLE)....Also did site:www.toughbooktalk.com Linux, another for CF-30 GPS and several more. Same AD Bloat.
2.) I switched to DuckDuckGo and all I got was TBT....Much better.

Good idea but NOT with Google.
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Ok...

It will make searches easier.

Jeff,
I am pretty sure those banner type search boxes can be setup to not show ads.

Like this:

Testing new browsing engine NETSURF. 1908 K in size. Slight learning curve but this CF-28 likes it. Running Porteus Linux 486 on a 20G hdd.

Colors are wierd.

Possibly a sizing issue, I'll patch it later once I install Mirage.

It seems Google had two custom search engines.
One was paid for at about $100 year. It did not have ads.
They just discontinued it April 1 2017.
The only one available now has a few ads.
