I spoke to Rob this morning.....so.....

O.K. While ADOR (Paul) is getting the CF-19 shaped up, I will offer this unit. Claims to have a five ++ hour battery. This unit has WWAN. Sierra 5725. Light scratches on the bottom. Four little dimples in the palm rest, usual for a CF-74 that has been used a little. (It's just depressed into four screw locations.)
New caddy w/80 GB drive...running Mint 15. Maybe someone has a Vista Business Restore disk to aid in setting up Windows 7 on this >>>> For minimum $400 donation to Toughbook Talk you get an Intel 335 240 GB SSD with this unit. The SSD is new in box, factory sealed. <<<<
Optical is DVD Multi-drive.DVD-RW.
This is an auction folks. Post bids in this thread. Auction ends Midnight Sunday. Highest bidder over $400 gets it.
Thanks to those who are supporting the TBT Upgrade.

Jeff
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Quick update here guys. I've attached a screenshot of the quote (I've blurred out my personal info for security reasons) with the 2.8GHz CPU's as I feel at this point $100 is negligable.

I had my guy put the 2 extra drives in a 2nd line item as I'm paying for those, NOT you guys! :cheers:

If my math is right we'll be about even with what we need for the new server assuming we can get at least $400 from the CF-74 and $400 from the CF-19.

Thanks!

Cleve here jumping in for the cause. First off, If Paul follows with CF-19 project, I have these goodies to help complete the package: Paul, I have a good blue tab battery I can donate. Best regards, Cleve
Looks like Jeff already jumped in with a CF-74 :pbjt:

Alright, now for brass tacks...I bid $401 for the 74 that I don't need, do I hear $450 for this mighty fine 74?

I have covered the last part of my plans below (In case you don't want your head to spin, just skip to the section about download times): (Also seen here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1676)

Since I am a network GEEK in need of serious help, while working 11 hours today I came up with this after hours. This is the future scope of what I'm planning for network infrastructure for the site:

Basic bandwidth chart:
1.5Mb = 183.105 kB
3Mb = 366.210 kB
5Mb = 610.352 kB
7Mb = 854.492 kB
10Mb = 1220.703 kB
15Mb = 1831.055 kB
20Mb = 2441.406 kB
50Mb = 6103.516 kB
75Mb = 9155.273 kB
100Mb = 12207.031 kB (11.921 mB)
1000Gb = 122070.31 KB (119.209 mB)

Example - 5M internet:
5*1000 = 5000Kb
5000 ÷ 8 = 625
625 * 1000 = 625,000
625,000 ÷ 1024
= 610.352kB [÷ 1024 = .596mB]

Example - max download/day 5M Internet:
610.352 * 86400
= 52,734,412 ÷ 1024
= 51,498.45 MB
51,498.45 MB ÷ 1024
= 50.29GB/Day

Download time numbers - Rob, how long will it take to download this if I maxed the current 7M line out with my badass internet? (Assuming NO ONE else is on the site):

500MB file: 9.986 minutes (6.9905 minutes with new speed)
800MB file: 15.978 minutes (11.185 minutes with new speed)
1GB file: 20.452 minutes (14.317 minutes with new speed)
1.5GB file: 30.678 minutes (21.475 minutes with new speed)
2GB file: 40.904 minutes (28.633 minutes with new speed)
2.5GB file: 51.131 minutes (35.791 minutes with new speed)
3GB file: 61.357 minutes (Just over 1 hour) (42.950 minutes with new speed)
3.5GB file: 71.583 minutes (50.108 minutes with new speed)
4GB file: 81.809 minutes (57.266 minutes with new speed, just less than 1 hour)
4.5GB file: 92.035 minutes (Just over 1.5 hours) (64.425 minutes with new speed)
5GB file: 102.261 minutes (71.583 minutes with new speed)
6GB file: 122.713 minutes (Just over 2 hours) (85.899 minutes with new speed, Just less than 1.5 hours)
7GB file: 143.1656 minutes (100.216 minutes with new speed)
10GB file: 204.522 minutes (Almost 3.5 hours) (143.166 minutes with new speed)

With that being said, Toughbooktalk history is below:

1) 22M/5M (Everyone could download stuff off of TBT at 610.352kB)
2) Then we went to 22/7M, (which we're stuck at for about 1 more month until Comcast updates their services to the better line below) (Everyone can download stuff off of TBT at 854.492kB)
3) Now with the new programming (which will cost the SAME), the line will be 50M/10M so Everyone can download stuff off of TBT at 1220.703kB or 1.192mB... - NOT BAD :headbang:

SHORT TERM) In the future (Within 1 year) (Along with a router upgrade which I've already purchased), I will bump it to 75M/15M, so that Everyone can download stuff off of TBT at 1831.055kB or 1.788mB.
LONG TERM) After that (4+ years out) I've planned for this line: 100M/20M. Everyone can download stuff off of TBT at 2441.406kB or 2.384mB.

I have this stuff ALL figured out so now I can actually sleep!!!!!!!!!!!! :doh:

Thanks! :cheers:

Ok I just posted the CF-74J that Jeff donated to TBT BUT I could not post a link to this thread because when I did it shows up as "$1 donations pls" so we need to start a new thread for this 74. NBR has rules that we can't ask for donations or links to donation threads what so ever . Yes I did ask.

Here is the link for TBT http://www.toughbooktalk.com/viewtopic. ... 448#p12448

Nice unit. If I wasn't financially embarrassed, I would definately bid on it.

I got an idea! Hey Cleve, you are buying things you don't need, how about a red-headed stepson. Good w/a wrench, soldering iron, welder, etc. Cheap. $500. And yes, I will dye my hair red. What say you? :D
CF-29LTQ,CF-31SBM,CF-52youngGUN,
