OK, the CF-29 just arrived. No hard drive and just a 3.5 floppy drive.

First off, I start by removing the floppy drive and buying a CD/DVD with a caddy. Figure out how to get that installed and move on to acquiring a hard drive and caddy - then work my way up to buying and installing XP.

Sound about right to those of you have who been where I'm at right now?

If you have a USB CD drive, connect that and boot up a Ubuntu Live CD. At least you can check if the screen, audio and video are working ok while you're waiting on the HDD caddy. What's the full model number of your 29?
