Pretty interesting mod, but I think that it there was room and acknowledging the more difficult plumbing, I think that the top of the LCD bezel would have been a more effective location!

But, I am really interested, were does one get these Refurbishment Ratings, as he claims a, "9.8 OUT OF 10."
I assume that a 10 would be completely furbished!

You guys don't know him? he is a member of NBR. I remember a couple of months ago he is asking some question with regards to my toughbook for sale on ebay. I then introduce him on NBR. He uses most of his gps from custom toughbooks.com( from Vincent). Ok! his NBR ID is "toughbook2010"( Darrin)

Agree that would be even more cool, and likely a better view of the sender's face (if their face was all that worth looking at ... :P )

Well he is a pretty nice guy over there, and I know it is just "sales talk," but it is pretty funny to have such a precise figure for something like this! I would have assumed that it required some sort of Digital Refurbishment Meter. :D

Well I certified mine as Windows 7 compliant, so I really don't have room to talk! :o

Somehow I think my CF-30 would still be faster... :D *Rob... - turning this into a pissing contest*

Well unless I am missing something, I think that this is the end of the line hardware wise. I am going to really start tweaking the OS and trying to make use of that last 128MB through UAM.

...and a Sager NP9261 Quad Core Notebook would be much faster. If I could justify more funds I would have just bought one of the new CF-31's for my job, but since I can not, I have built the best my budget would allow.

I have a running cost sheet on the project, and have kept track of every cent I have spent, and made by selling two laptops and other parts, to fund the project.

What up guys? I am pretty happy with what I was able to put together on a tight budget with a lot of help and support from folks on both boards. Do you think that it is inappropriate for me to post my stats as others have done for their Toughbook(s!)?

Azrael,

I am next in line with similar specs, thanks to you (2 gig) :pbjt:
But mine will have 3g instead of gps
Still waiting for the CF-29NDLGFBM coming in from customs :wtf:
I already have 2 gig of crucial; 4gig SD; a touchscreen from a CF-29H and a 320 gig HD with win7 pre installed
