120Gb SSD added now I cannot reinstall Winx Xp

#1 Post by AKnReaper »

OK so I added a SSD drive with TechToughs IDE/SATA adapter, not my XP Pro will not install. I had just used it to reformat and fresh install on the 60GB IDE, so I am not sure if the SSD is to big or what. Any suggestions?

TT's adapter might be the issue?

More details on what the error message says please.
What version of XP? What disk is it?

XP has some problem with SATA drives. The SATA driver needs to be added to the boot disk. Otherwise XP can't see the sata drive.

Ok so I added the 120 SSD to the boot order hopefully this will allow it to format and in stall the OS. So far it has brought up the win colored blue background and nothing else so far...

I put 120g ssd in both of my 29's. Mk2 & Mk5, I have the Panasonic recovery disks for both models. They install to sp1 then downloaded and installed sp3, no problems. I got mine on eBay for under $30. That was before I got my disk for my 31 from Panasonic. Not sure if you can get a disk for a 29 from Panasonic , have to check. Might eliminate some of the headaches.
We get some rules to follow.

Blah.. Ok I have 3 recovery disks that I have for my 29, I copied the first disk to a folder, downloaded the drivers as well as nLite, however it is not recognizing the first disk, to insert said drivers into. I have tried the F6 option, however it does not allow me to use that as an option....
