Carrier interogitive.

#1 Post by Bill_TN »

Wondering just what is the purpose for the 2 copper strips in the carrier? They are 1 on either side, top and bottom. Folded, with out creasing. At the back side, non-connector end.

Sorry Bill, we need to see a picture of what you are referring to. It may not help but it is worth a shot.

LOL. Really? As many CF-29 caddies as we have dissected and we need a picture? lol. Ok I'll try to figure out how to take a lower level pic with the cell and post it. We all know what happens when I just take a pic. Freaking 4 screen graphix. I'll get the hang of that some day. BRB soonest.

Shawn, I was talking CF-29 caddies. Like these stock pix from online. I can snap a shot with the cell but remember they tend to be huge. What purpose does the copper serve?

Dang they still seem big. But get the subject across.

The manual calls it a HDD THERMAL PLATE
So I am guessing it is the transfer heat from the drive.

Oh, a kind of heat sink? So has heating and cooling. Neat. Always wondered what they were. The heaters are a bit obvious.

I had thought they were just for grounding, so I learned something too.
