Easy to put a HDD in a battery pack.. Use a usb adapter for the HDD and solder the other end of the USB cable to an internal
USB port. Of course it would be permanent and you could not use a DVD drive anymore.

Did not recognize the zero hour as I was upright and not laying down when I read the post. :) Moo

There has to be a way around this international shipping BS. How would the usps police/fbi know that this package going to Ireland has a battery in it? Even with it in all it's original from the factory packaging?

Random customs inspections can find "contraband" ...I won't take the chance. I don't want to pay the fines.

The penalties for failing to properly package or properly offer for transport a lithium battery can carry fines of up to $55,000 dollars per package per day. This is for accidental violation of the rules where there is no intent to “wilfully” violate the requirements. “Wilful” violations can involve criminal prosecution and penaltites — especially if there is death, injury or property damage that is a result of this intentional disregard of the regulations.

Oh okay, I understand now but the laptop is up and running and I also have the touchscreen working now to. I just want the second hard drive installed as I was going to put a huge car diagnostic software onto it which is 70gb and wanted it all neat and tidy rather than using an external drive. I think the answer is no but the 29 doesn't have Bluetooth right ? I know that I can install a wee usb one but it would be cool if I could have the single usb for other purposes

It looks like I am a LIAR..
I do not have the WD320 drive. It must have gone to the Left coast.

I do have a 100gb IDE drive..I also have the needed second hard drive IDE to IDE adapter that goes into your DVD caddy.
Looks like postage to Ireland would be about $25 USD.

Make me a reasonable offer. I'm not looking to get rich.

As you are learning, these guys are different. They tend to care about getting results regardless of what it takes.
