short version is our Mitsubishi MUT laptop died, they said smelled like burnt electrical. They pulled the HDD and stuck it in a 29N, no idea what the MUT was as they sent it off before i was asked to help. Ive reinstalled some of the drivers and no luck for the USB, should i redo ALL the drivers from scratch and go from there? or is there something I'm missing that's simple? In device manager there's no yellow triangles with exclamation marks so they've found something...

Open the rear door, you will find the usb port inside..

Full model number? What OS?
Are the usb ports disabled in BIOS?
If it is XP then a full reinstall may be the only way to get it right.
Win7, you will have to fiddle with it...

MP serial port is for the special tester (volt ohm meter) that went in the media pocket.

XP is NOT friendly when you swap drives from machine to machine...I am amazed it even booted..

A format and full OS reinstall is really needed..

YAY... the sad part is when all this started they were trying to re-license the software on the unit for Mitsubishi

Are all the old drivers still installed? If so they may need to be un-installed and then install all the toughbook drivers.

If it booted it must of been close on the hardware.
