#1 Post by kode-niner »

This is the thread to discuss
1) Where to buy OEM batteries, yellow tab and blue tab
2) Third-party battery reviews
3) Media Bay options

I get all mine on ebay, $15.00 to $35.00 with 3.5 to 4.5 hours
kode-niner wrote: 2) Third-party battery reviews
Don't waste your money, ALWAYS go for OEM. We all use the real thing.
kode-niner wrote: 3) Media Bay options
They are nice but with only an extra 2 hours run time I gave up on them and now carry a extra regular battery in my Toughbook bag.

I've yet to find yellow tabs at such a low price. I usually gravitate around my car so I could basically carry a crate full of spare batteries in the trunk, now that I think of it. But when I'm out and about I don't carry a bag so the media bay option sounded good for a bit more autonomy.

And yeah, I bought a Techorbit battery. It's crap. Shame on me.

The media bay batteries are "OK" I get about an hour or so out of mine on the CF30. I got the battery used..
I have to recheck the run time now that I put the LED backlight in the screen.
Used battery deals are out there...They are always a gamble though..You never know for sure until you test it in your own equipment..
Sometimes you get a dud..even buying OEM...
The only issue with using a second standard battery, is you have to shut down to swap batteries..

You may want to invest in a DC adapter and a external charger like the CF-VCBTB1.

The case/bag I posted a picture of fits on the CF-30...it also protects it too for just $23.00

I have a car DC charger and use it daily.

About the media bay adapter. Is the battery within the adapter replaceable?

Yes it is. I don't know the model number but if I am right it's a CF-72 battery.

I recently bought 20 batteries a mix of 5 yellow tabs and 15 blue for about $400. It is a gamble but I have only had 4 bad ones out of 100+ batteries.

Aftermarket = crap. I have some 6-7 hour ones also. :D
2 CF-30Mk3's, 2 CF-71's, CF-L1, 3 CF-72's, CF-73, CF-74, CF-48, CF-50, CF-51Mk3, 2 CF-19's,7 CF-52's, FZ-A1 and other assorted beaters.

1472 or 1473..I can't recall for sure. I'll let you know when I get home...
BUT, I haven't found a source for new ones. So far it seems that Panasonic only sells them inside the media bay assembly..
