CF-29 GPS kit

#1 Post by custom-toughbooks »

I have started production of an interface board that simplifies GPS (& internal USB device) installations in the 29....
No soldering involved.
I have made 20 kits available in my webshop if any of you want to try it out.

C..T...How much per kit/board? Its great! I guess you have a complete tools on making this type of board. My only comment is, why don't you made it with exact size/dimension that can be mount exactly to the area where it can srewed on the spot(sled bracket).

Teo:

The reason I did not design it to mount on the existing pedestal is because clearance to main battery would become marginal.

This board is really only a breakout of the mainboard connector cn18, with some added protection.
I have included soldering pads to all [cn18] pins underneath, so as to keep the board as versatile as possible.
In addition you have the GPS connector and USB connector on top.

I think fixing with double sided tape underneath the palmrest works great. And it allows you to move it around to fit different installations.
On my personal cf-29 that I use on my boat I have added GPS, bluetooth and a 3G GSM modem internally.

The price I am asking is $ 149,- for a complete kit for the cf-29. Worldwide shipping included.
If/when I get my production volume up I will be able to reduce prices further.

I can also offer a discount for quantity orders, as well as sell the interface board separately.
You can reach me at post(at)custom-toughbooks.com if you have any questions.

Awesome!!! This is exactly what I was looking for for my CF-29, as I've been wanting GPS, but didn't want to have to hack it in there on my own.

Just put in an order for one kit from you.

Thank You!!!!
