Zorin OS 12.1 Released
27 February, 2017-All, Zorin OS

We are pleased to announce the release of Zorin OS 12.1. This new release brings together the latest software updates, bug fixes, new desktop features, performance enhancements and hardware support.

Zorin OS 12.1 introduces an updated hardware enablement stack. The newly-included Linux kernel 4.8 as well as an updated X server graphics stack adds compatibility for newer computers and hardware in Zorin OS.

One of the new desktop features is an easy way to add app icons to the desktop. Simply open the Zorin menu and right-click on an app to view the option to add it to the Desktop or to Favorites.
This is a really welcome feature for me.

Pulled the SSD from the 52gun and put it in the 53A.
I plan on keeping it on the 53 and long term run it.
Touchpad does not scroll.. scroll now works..disabled 2 finger touch
Sound works
Wifi works.
Tweaked it to look and run like OSX.
I will post a screenshot of the desktop as soon as I figure how ...maybe printscn was it.
prntscn is it. Now where did it put the photo?

$ dmesg | grep synaptics

Not much info but a slight lead.

Oh, here's some more. Watch the spacing. The list from man synclent has too many spaces. I'm sure there is a way to make it permanent. Haven't looked for it yet.

would this linked driver work? Turns out it's 32bit

http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/publ ... ob_93209_1

It's from//for Hp

Type: Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices
Version: 15.2.10.51(8 Apr 2011)
Operating System(s): Linux

Problem was that 2 finger scrolling was enabled. Disabled 2 finger and edge scrolling works.

Vertical is close enough for me.
I never use the horizontal scroll anyway.

It's raining in Harrisburg and thankfully St. Patrick's day parade is over. i spent the entire day trying to download and burn a bootable usb for Zorin ... and failed miserably. The directions in Zorin say to download a little program called "Etcher" which did not play with, nor work with MX-16: https://zorinos.com/help/install-zorin-os/
I verified the download as suggested (which I never do) following their instructions and the file was good to go....but no joy using Unetbootin nor "make usb" in MX-16....I finally gave up since I'm not home for a month and purchased one from OS disks...can't wait to try the 12.1 everyone is talking about (well, core anyway). Etcher screwed my system somehow and then Synaptic could/would not work correctly. Fortunately I have a persistent usb of MX-16, so just reinstalled the system onto the trusty 53. It's a rainy day but all hope is not lost.
