ZORIN the squirrel. Zorin 12 notes.

#1 Post by SHEEPMAN! »

definition: Squirrel is a word for sidetracked.

1. CF-31MK3 no sound.
2. CF-52GUN has sound.
3. I lost my Super Key....I use it to launch menu. Apparently no simple fix. Super key launches a search box.
4. Thought the keyboard crashed but it was something else. Super key disabled the keyboard and took a while to release it. more later maybe...........
5. Touch works needs calibration.
6. Chromium web browser is stock in Zorin.

The chase resumes :read:

Edit: [ 167.258696] perf interrupt took too long (2504 > 2500), lowering kernel.perf_event_max_sample_rate to 50000

Above from terminal, apparently reset by OS.

7. This OS is X86-64 so will not run in a CF-29.
8. CF-30 MK3 seems a little sluggish.
9. Sound working.
10. Wireless connected and authorized as expected.

.wine is stock.

Open Street Maps stock. My address is wrong by 1.5 miles.

Upgrading a ssd install as we speak on a CF-53. Must be JULA21M as the touchscreen works. I'll find the calibrator after update is done.

We'll see what we shall see after updates. This is an Ubuntu clone??? 4.4.0 -62 downloading now.

Then....and then..............when I just got used to the menu the update changed everything....

But I used it for a while and I might like it.....(note: people are more likely to like what they are used to)

1. Calibration was fine. Numbers go in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf.
2. Desktop is empty with a tool bar on top.
3. Click super key and favorites slide in from the side and search pop-up appears. Click the dice looking icon and all applications appear along with three dots on right side.
I wonder what these do....oh!...they are paginator dots. (I made this word up)

Personal opinion......this desktop is geared towards a touch environment. It runs a LOT quicker if you forget about using the touchpad or mouse. Icons are far enough apart to use it with gloves on.

...........................................................................................................................................................................
Taking a break here in case this does not save.....I've developed a General Error message between this box and preview. :( The illegal use of cookie one.) Attempting to send.
Fair for you/ Fair for me.

Great review.

So what does paginator mean, Mr Webster?

Update: O.K. it sent. Clicking [Full Editor & Preview] brings up the General Error and disables everything including picture upload...just the text box works.
So I copied my edited text and came back here and pasted. :( ( I used : and ( here for frown guy)

More on Z 12 later.

My text in previous post would make more sense with a picture.

Missed your query Mr. Shawnster....

I clicked the dice thing and a full page of gui's appeared...(Applications)

The three dots on the right move between pages of applications. 2 1/2 pages in my case.
