I wonder if Mint 18 handles the built in ATI cards better in the CF-31.

Right now I'm investigating kernel panic on CF-31. (MK2) Both 32bit and 64 bit USB sticks. Hmmmmmmmmm.

More later.

More: And CF-53 MK2

Kernel Panic... yeah. Don't want none of that.

Realized that I'm still on 17.2. Wondering if the 17.3's is worth bumping up to. I see there are some improvements. Maybe the driver manager can help with the ATI card?

I'm not recommending the OSDisc.com sticks for CF-31 nor CF-53 until I get this sorted.

Slightly OT.

OSDisc sent me a return label for the USB sticks with kernel panic.

We shall see.

I do appreciate the fact they are on the ball and read their mail.

Never used them myself but good to know they have good responsiveness and service. Refreshing even.

VERY!

I spent a few $ so I wouldn't have to look up persistence. I like the USB sticks....these were 32GB. Key chain kind....solid aluminum?

Need to check the MK2 (29). It installed o.k. Hmmm now which one was it?
WHICH ATI CARD?

RUN THIS:

Code: Select all

I copied the Mint 18 from the CF-29 MK2. Used a new to me program called "systemback". Not recommended yet for Mint 18. (hasn't stopped me yet) :) Basically does a system back-up and then offers choices. What I did:
1.Back-up to /Home
2.Convert to .iso
3.Burn to stick or whatever. (requires >4GB stick) Good thing I read that part.

I'm running it LiveUSB on my MK3 (30)

Check out MX-15 (anti-X) (pronounced antiques)

For the CF-29 I prefer MX-14. (On topic now) :D

Did you find the MX-14 stick in the USB slot above the battery? On the Custom GPS Board.

I just remembered it last night.

That stick will work in all CF-29 to CF-30. 31 also if you tweak the mouse settings in grub.
