SolydXK and the CF-50

#1 Post by safn1949 »

So tell me what I'm doing wrong here,I install SolydXK and all goes well till the end,it asked me if I wanted to restart and use it.I did ,it did and PXE-E61 Media test failure. So thinking I may have removed the disc too early I reinstall.

But this time I say no,wait till it shows the desktop and shut down, restart to F2,remove disc and check boot order,F10 enter same *$&#^$*$) thing. I freely admit I have no idea.

Boot the live cd. Does it see the hard drive? From desktop home directory.

Is this a dual/triple quad boot or something?

Looks like you have duplicates ....consider wiping the disk. I tried to find a 32 bit live cd but no luck so far.

I think there is an option in downloading for gpart. delete all the lines, follow instructions to wipe them and then back up a page and mark the hopefully single line with a right click and /.
Some people use a separate home directory partition. It just confuses me so I ignore it. You can always save your home directory if needed.

Good luck,

Jeff

I'm not sure what system you are using, but suggest you use a more user friendly linex distribution.
I would try Zorin 9 Lite first and go from there:

CF-30 MK2 SSD MX-21 Betsy, MK2 Navigatrix, Fundraiser for TbT
CF-52 GUN SSD MX-19

CF-M34 MicroWattR8 Thanks Sadlmkr
CF-M33 MicroWattR8 Thanks Springfield

That's odd. :D Brilliant minds think alike.
I haven't checked in for a couple hours because I was dumping Solydx for Zorin.

It's was on a ssd and wouldn't play with trim.
