On charging mine will do it sometimes, swapping back and forth. With the small screen you may have to calibrate it a couple of times to get it perfect. Then make a list after install of what all you have running and decide what needs to be killed, then what need to be disabled.
CF-28 MK2,Mk3 / CF-29 Mk3 / CF-30 MK2 / CF-25 Mk1 ATI / CF-19 MK3/Mk3/Mk5 / CF-U1 Mk1,Mk2 / CF-M34 Mk7/Mk3 / CF-17 Mk1 / CF-07

So an update: The CF-U1 is running well on Windows 7 Pro, got everything installed and working except for one thing. Is there anything I need to do to make the keyboard light up? I tried using it in the car last night and the keyboard never lit up.

I turned to the all-knowing google, turns out it's Fn-Z. It threw me off because I thought that combo brought up the on-screen keyboard. Darn lack of sleep......

Does no one on TBT ever read their TB manuals? I actually read my 19 and U1's manuals a few times!

No one seems to read manuals or FAQ's.
Life will beat you into submission.

I'm a tinkerer by nature, so I wanted to figure it out before resulting to the manual. It seems like the CF-U1 manual is really short and dry compared to the CF/28/29/30 manuals. So much juicy info......

Anyways, I'm happy to report that my little U1 survived its Windows 7 transplant, and it stays attached to my safety harness that I wear at work, ready to take notes on damage on trailers, or noting what trailers I have rejected and why. I did disable the Bluetooth, seems like it really put a drain on Windows 7. Literally took 30 seconds or more to open any program, until I shut down Bluetooth. Don't even use it anyway.

The only toughbook that I don't have bluetooth disabled on is my CF-30. That one is used with my car OBD2 stuff. I have a usb reader but have a bluetooth one as well. I don't even use it on my phone that much.
